For those living in the Village of Russia and the surrounding area, we are asking for your help. As you know, we will be losing our US Bank branch in October. As difficult as it was to lose Buschur’s Market, we feel the loss of a bank would also be a disservice to our community and detrimental to new development in the village. As a council, we are asking for those impacted to write your objection to the closing to the OCC about our branch closure.
Some points you may include in your letter are the following:
- Our village would be losing our only financial institution.
- We are a growing, thriving and supportive community.
- Could be difficult for our vulnerable population, especially the elderly or those without internet access, to manage their finances.
- We have a variety of businesses in the village to support a financial institution and the loss would be detrimental to the village as a whole.
- The loss of a bank can be seen as a sign of economic decline in our village, and could severely impact our ability to attract new business.
It is important that our voices be heard on this matter. Please send your letter to the following by October 24, 2024:
Director for Large Bank Licensing
Office of the Comptroller of the Currency

10th Floor Mailroom

We sincerely thank you for your help and urge you to please send your objections as soon as possible.
