Garbage/Recycling
The Village of Russia along with several other villages in the area entered into an Inter Local Agreement with the North Central Ohio Solid Waste District to negotiate more favorable trash and recycling rates for the district. As a result, Republic Services has been selected our provider through 02/28/2029.
Effective March 1, 2023, the new trash and recycling rates are as follows:

Trash bags can be purchased at the Village Office in lots of 10 for the amounts listed above for those residents who are NOT signed up for unlimited trash service. Please call ahead to arrange an appointment. You will need to bring the exact change or a check.
Tags will need to be purchased from the Village Office for any large items that do not fit into a trash bag.
To sign up for unlimited trash service, please call Republic Service at (800) 686-1732. Residents will be billed on a quarterly basis. Cart rental for the trash service is included in the monthly rate.
Large Items
The Village office will continue to sell tags for large items such as mattresses and appliances. The appropriate tags must be attached to the item and placed at the curb for pickup on Friday during the normal trash pickup.

Recycling
Recycling will continue to be charged on the monthly water/sewer utility bills. For those that need a bin, recycling bins will be available at the Village Office.
